Easy Cooking Methods for Vegetables

Each has its own specific style of cooking, and the way they are cooked can vary dramatically depending on their ingredients and seasonings. Here are a few reasons why these methods are used more often than you might think, and some tips on how to make them even easier to prepare.
Steamed vegetables are very easy to prepare, because they already have the basic cooking processes down. They come out soft, fluffy, and have a wonderful texture that makes them ideal for stir-frying. When this type of vegetable is steamed on top of a piece of low calorie butter, it adds a flavour that is very similar to broccoli. By using low fat dressing, salt, and pepper to help make the vegetables taste better, steamed vegetables will be much better for you than if you were to use high calorie butter and heavy cream.
Roasted vegetables are a little bit trickier to cook, because they need to have their skins removed before they go into the oven. There are several different methods for roasting vegetables, depending on what part of the vegetable they are. Some of them may result in an aroma that you may find overpowering, while others will give it a subtle hint of flavour that you may be totally unaware of. One very simple way to roast vegetables is to add olive oil and water to a pan that is over medium heat, and then place a piece of raw cut carrot onto the hot oil. Cover the carrot with water, and within a few minutes, you will begin to see the carrot begin to steam. As the carrot cooks, you can add chopped herbs and seasoning to help the taste to develop a very mild and pleasant aroma and flavour.
